Ocean Academy Charter School

Ocean Academy Charter School is governed by a Board of Education. This Board of Education has the same legal responsibility and authority as a Board of Education does in any other school district.

The Board of Education is charged with keeping the overall mission of the school in focus and continuously confirms that the objectives of the various parts of the school are in harmony with the mission.  They are also responsible for the direction of the district, its solvency and making personnel, financial, curricular and other major decisions.

The concerns of Ocean Academy’s Board of Education include:

• Providing guidance of the charter school system through policy development;

• Providing for a program of quality instruction;

• Providing for management and direction of the charter school;

• Providing for communication between the charter school and the community served by the school.

Ocean Academy’s Board consists of nine members who each serve a three-year term of office.  Members of the Board are volunteers.

The Board of Education of Ocean Academy Charter School (Lakewood, Ocean County) holds all board meetings at Ocean Academy Charter School, located at 1650 Massachusetts Avenue, Lakewood, NJ.  If virtual attendance is needed, please call (732)987-6525 for log-in information and any other needed information.  Legal Notice of these meetings has been published in the Asbury Park Press, Paper of Record.  ​
